125th Anniversary Gala June 2026

The Marquette Council was chartered on June 1, 1901 and became the nation's 588^th council of the Knights of Columbus. Our name was selected in honor of Father Jacques Marquette, a French priest and explorer.

The Marquette Council works closely with three Parishes in Sussex County;  Our Lady of the Lake in Sparta,  St. Thomas in Ogdensburg and Immaculate Conception in Franklin.

Our Knights are involved in many of the “behind-the-scenes” activities in the parishes. We are a fraternal organization that practices Charity, Unity and Fraternity. Basically we talk and walk the Beatitudes. 

​In June of 2026, the Council celebrated it's 125th Anniversary with a Gala at Perona Farms. This ceremony highlighted the ​history and contributions of ​one of the oldest councils in the world. We look forward to the next 125 ​years!
